This is the story of Axel, a Doberman that was heroically rescued in Amarillo, Texas

Sadly, Axel's story is not so uncommon. He spent the first years of his life on a chain in a barren back yard with virtually no love, attention, or comfort. He was chained to a dog house that gave little warmth in winter or escape from the sweltering heat in summer.

I'm Home

"Whoo Whoooo ... I've been Adopted !!!"
Obe's story is a long one.  He came to us from a shelter with a rare deformity called polydactylism (sp?) with one toe enlarged and deformed in such a way that his front foot looked like a 'lobster claw'.  His initial visit with an Ortho-specialist Vet confirmed that nothing had to be done unless the foot started to be irritated due to improper use.  In the mean-time Obe had a nice home with some senior dogs and people and was loved by all.  His foot, however, did begin to have real problems and it was deemed best to remove the leg after all.  This however had the opposite effect that you might think and Obe reverted back to being a full-speed puppy.  This did not work out for his new home and for perfectly sound reasons Obe then got his next and final home with Christina and Jake, an Aussie.

Obe has won everyone's heart in his new family and has lots of TLC and fun with his active family.

Hemi
Hemi was relinquished to a veterinarian by an enlisted man that couldn't take his dog with him.  The vet, one of our favorites at Blue Cross Animal Clinic, had trouble with her small dog with Hemi so he moved on to his final home with Karen and Howard.  As you can see from this picture, there's no better place for him to have landed.
Harvey
Harvey was a close call.  He was rescued at 5 months of age from the shelter in Alamogordo just as Parvo symptoms showed up.  After 6 days in the hospital with excellent round-the-clock care, he pulled through.  Harvey went up to what seemed a great home in Colorado only to be rejected for being a puppy so now lives in Greeley with a wonderful young couple (daughter of the former President of DRNM) and is getting to be every bit as much of a puppy as his funny, bouncy little self can be.  Harvey does more than the usual play-bow, he hops up into the air backward and then lands in a play-bow.  He has his own face-book page - Harvey Nelson of Greeley Colorado.
Callie
Callie was rescued with her brother and sister running wild at about the age of 5 months.  They were 3 little bags of bones scrapping for whatever food they could find.  Callie struck it rich as the last of the siblings to be adopted and has now topped 8 14,000 ft. Mountains in Colorado when she goes camping with Tiba, a half-Doberman that is like a sister to her, and her parents.  They say she is a sweet loving little mischievous little rascal that has won their hearts forever.  She is also one of the lucky Dobermans that got to keep her ears and tail.
